the Séjour grand rhumier
Discover the artisanal world of A 1710 rums.
An immersive 4-day stay with the A 1710 rums team, who will reveal their know-how to you day by day.
By the end of this experience, rum-making will hold no secrets for you.
You’ll have experienced every phase in the creation of an agricultural rum from hand-cutting the cane tò dressing the decanters, and will leave with your personalized bottles of white rum, unforgettable memories of a unique experience.
Day 1: Cutting the cane early in the morning
Around 7:30 a.m. (don’t worry, in Martinique we go to bed early so we can
enjoy the day as soon as the sun rises), equipped with your Bakoua hat and
your cutlass, you’ll set off with Julien, Pascal and Andy, who will teach you
the ancestral methods of cutting sugar cane, as well as
tying up the cane bundles.
On your return, you’ll take part in pressing the harvested cane to extract
the juice.
Day 2: Discover the estate and work in the winery
Day 3: distilling rhum agricole and dressing decanters
You’ll spend the morning at the rum factory, watching the arrival of the
cane juice and taking part in the fermentation process.
You’ll take part in the distillation of your cuvée alongside our master
distillers, Joël and Arsène. You’ll be able to discover their know-how, so
important to the smooth running of our two stills, “La Belle Aline” and
“La Douce Alice”.
Then, guided by our fine team, you will wax and dress the bottles or decanters
containing our A 1710 rums. This is also the time for you to
personalize your bottle by choosing the color of the wax
for your cuvée.
Day 4: Tasting with the cellar master
With the cellar master, you’ll discover the secrets of
tasting spirits, and more particularly rum. He
will also explain how to educate your palate to recognize the
aromas that make up rums.
You leave the Habitation du Simon with your extraordinary rum and plenty of memories…
