Distillerie A 1710 presents its own distillation of rhum repos\u00e9 sous-bois. Cheval Bondieu is a wood-restored, agricultural rum distilled by A 1710 from fresh cane. <\/em><\/p>

Cheval Bondieu is a blend of rums matured in French and American oak barrels for 18 to 36 months. This cuv\u00e9e is the very first aged rum from the A 1710 distillery, the first in a long line that you’ll be able to discover over the years.<\/p>

Served at 51.5 \u00b0, this rum is a perfect blend of smoothness and intensity.<\/p>

Cheval Bondieu (Good Lord\u2019s horse) is also called \u2018Chouval Bondi\u00e9\u2019 in Creole and those in the know, or \u2018Phasme\u2019 (stick insect) by the more scientifically minded. The Cheval Bondieu is a legendary and emblematic animal in the Martinican culture.<\/p>

The nose is expressive and round, revealing aromas of spices – cinnamon, nutmeg – and marmalade, before developing into scents of honey and gingerbread.<\/p>\n

On the palate, the offset is forthright. Flavours of blackcurrant, vanilla, hazelnut and roasted cocoa sweep through the mouth. As in all our A 1710 cuv\u00e9es, we find our beautiful sugar cane very present.<\/p>\n

The finish leads on to woody notes and sweet spices.<\/p>\n
